To assist in its original stated purposes as recited in NGCMA's articles of incorporation, i.e., to foster the promotion of safety standards with respect to golf cars, to improve the business conditions of the game and to promote the common business interest of its members. Since 1984, NGCMA as an accredited American National Standards Institute, ("ANSI"), developer, has developed and maintains the ANSI sanctioned standard establishing safety and performance specifications for the design and operation of golf cars, ANSI/NGCMA Z 130.1.
